Privacy notice

How 1010 Collective (Pty) Ltd, and its 1 Stop Media division, collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Last updated 12 October 2026.

Who we are

1010 Collective (Pty) Ltd (registration 2018/048298/07), 0A Karl Kielblock Street, Langenhoven Park, Bloemfontein, 9301, is the responsible party for the information described here. 1 Stop Media is a division of the same company.

Questions, requests and complaints go to our Information Officer at info@1010collective.co.za.

What we collect

  • When you spec a project or send an enquiry: your name, email, phone number, business name and what you tell us about the project.
  • When you create an account: your name and email, and a password we store only as a one-way scrypt hash (nobody here can read it). If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name, email address and an account id. We never see your Google password.
  • When you work with us: quotes, invoices, payments, statements, support tickets, project links, and the files you send us (logos, photos, content).
  • When you pay by card: the payment happens on Yoco’s own secure page. We never see or store your card number; we keep the amount, the date and Yoco’s reference.
  • If you join the Agent Track: your details, the work you sell or build, and the commission it earns.

Cookies and your browser

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.

  • One sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in. It holds only an account id, and is signed so it can’t be forged. Signing in with Google adds a second cookie for a few minutes, while Google sends you back.
  • Your light or dark mode choice, kept in your own browser.
  • If you arrive through an agent’s link, their referral code, kept in your browser for 90 days so they are credited for your project.

Why we use it

  • To quote, build, deliver and support the work you ask for.
  • To invoice you, take payment and keep the accounting records the law requires.
  • To email you about your account and your work: quotes, invoices, statements, tickets, sign-in and password emails.
  • To credit the agent who referred you, where there is one.
  • Marketing emails go only to people who have agreed to receive them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share only what each one needs to do its part: our hosting and database provider, our email provider, Yoco for card payments, Google if you choose Google sign-in, and the agent who sold or builds your project (your contact details and how the work is going, never another client’s).

Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we use providers that are bound to protect it.

How long we keep it

Financial records (quotes, invoices, payments) are kept for at least five years, as South African tax law requires. Project and account information is kept while you are a client and for as long as we need it afterwards to support what we built. Enquiries that never become work are deleted when they are no longer useful. Ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

How we protect it

Passwords are hashed, sessions are signed, and every portal and admin request is checked on the server against what that person is allowed to see. Clients see only their own account; agents see only the work they are on. Uploaded files are stored outside the website’s code and backed up nightly.

Your rights

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
  • Ask us to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it.
  • Object to us using it for marketing, at any time.
  • Complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) if you are unhappy with how we handled it. We would like the chance to fix it first.
